Funny enough, I was recently putting together a 90s playlist for my workout group (F3, highly recommended). Mostly guys in the 35-45 age range who grew up at least somewhat with this music.
And the exact question I asked myself, “Which are these guys going to find more cringe? The Backstreet Boys, or a lot of the oh so cool ‘alt-rock’ we listened to back then?”
Episode 1 for PS1 and Windows is insane, it’s an action adventure title where you can do crazy stuff like cut through innocent civilians (including kids) with a lightsaber. Surprised it was recently rereleased!
Racer Arcade from Sega is pretty fun and as always Sega went all out with the sit down cabinet. They’re definitely hard to find in the wild these days though, especially in working condition.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Backstreet Boys either. But just like Disney Star Wars makes me at least acknowledge the effort that went into the prequels, today’s music makes me kind of nostalgic for the boy bands of yesteryear!
Crazy to think it’s been a quarter-century! I saw “Phantom Menace”—once. And I remember finding the code for a Naboo Starfighter in “Rogue Squadron.” But as a former Star Wars fan, I’d hafta say that it def should’ve stayed dead. Strange to think that the proliferation we… enjoy? No, endure in this day and age was incipient and burgeoning then.

Interweave some Limp Bizkit with some Backstreet Boys and let the chips fall where they may!
I really liked the N64 game as a kid. I still have the John Williams episode 1 soundtrack stuck in my head because of that game.
However one feels about the Phantom Menace, no one can say that John Williams phoned in that score.

Yikes! I wonder if they toned some of that carnage down for the recent re-release?
Racer Arcade looks amazing, but I imagine keeping it running is pretty costly.
Not sure if Backstreet Boys are peak boy band, but their music is better than New Kids on the Block and N Sync.
